Liberty Lake, WA: A Travel Guide to One of our Favorite Places

We decided to stay at Liberty Lake due to its affordability in comparison to Coeur d’Alene. It was a happy accident, as we absolutely fell in love with the area.

Where to stay in Liberty Lake

Our favorite place to stay is Liberty lake Regional Park Campground. This is a nice campground situated perfectly between Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. The campground is situated in a Regional Park so there is plenty of outdoor activity to keep you busy. They offer partial and full hookups, bathrooms, and fire pits.

Things To Do in Liberty Lake

One of our favorite activities to do while visiting Liberty Lake was hiking. We took advantage of the trails from the campground. Scott and myself hiked the Liberty Lake Loop Trail a few times. This was a strenuous 8.5 mile hike with a 1,500 foot elevation gain, but it’s worth it! We hiked right after it rained so the waterfall was flowing.

When visiting Liberty Lake, don’t forget to take advantage of the Lake! There were plenty of people paddle boarding, Kayaking, and we even spotted a few wakeboarders. Although we didn't get our paddleboards out, Scott and the kids cold dipped every night. The lake is absolutely beautiful at sunset.

Liberty Lake Regional Park Campground is situated next to Liberty Lake Golf Course. Scott took our son and he said it was really beautiful and green, plus Scott let our son drive and he really enjoyed that!

Another Activity Scott and Brody did together was to visit Any Time RC. Our son loves this hobby, he was so excited. Unfortunately, I believe this location closed.

Places to Eat in Liberty Lake

We only ate out once while in Liberty Lake,  at a place called Fieldhouse Pizza & Pub. We ordered pizza and chicken wings. It was really good, but a bit pricey.

We did most of our grocery shopping at Yoke's Fresh Market in Liberty Lake. Their beef sticks are delicious. We also bought giant marshmallows to make epic S’mores.

Places to see near Liberty Lake

From Liberty Lake we visited Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and Sandpoint. It is a great location and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this special area.

Inspiring Experience

While staying in Liberty Lake, Scott met a guy named Pete. He offered to pick him up from the Chevy Dealership so that Scott wouldn't have to sit there all day. He was so kind, he and his wife cooked breakfast for Scott, and they enjoyed a great conversation. Pete dropped him back off at the dealership when the truck was done, what a great act of service and kindness from a new friend.

Verse of the Day

1 John 3:18 NLT

Dear Children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Reflection

  • Actions speak louder than words, it’s biblical. Love without action is devoid of truth. Sometimes I find it difficult to be vulnerable enough to love using words, or bold enough to love with actions, especially with people I don’t know.

  • At times, I find myself struggling with self-doubt, questioning what I can bring to others. And then, unexpectedly, someone like Pete comes along. He offered assistance to someone he barely knew, humbly giving what he could. Through this small yet significant act of service, our family was touched by his generosity. I'm truly grateful for God's expression of love in moments like these, where He imparts valuable lessons through the people we encounter every day.

  • My prayer for each of us is that we will humbly and boldly be people of action. May God give us an opportunity to serve someone out of love today. Likewise, may His love be revealed to us through someone we encounter today. I praise God for being a God of love, a God of action, a God of truth, and a God of deliverance!
